Portland Holistic Network
Mission Statement
To support members in growing their business through accountability, networking and business building opportunities, with like-minded professionals, in an open, holistic environment.
The Portland Holistic Network is a new networking/Mastermind group open to holistically minded small business owners looking for a comfortable place to network and get support around building their business. This is not your average stuffy networking group, thank goodness! My hope to to have a small intimate group of highly motivated people providing accountability and support to each other on our journeys to successful businesses. Potential leads and positive affirmations abound!
A holistic approach to business emphasizes the emotional, mental, spiritual and physical elements of the business, the business owner and their employees, clients &/or customers.
You've read the mission statement, now read the guidelines and proposed meeting flow below. If you are on board and wish to join and help create a joyful, open-minded, alternative networking/Mastermind group from the ground up, please contact Andréa for more information about the group and the application process.
Guidelines
- We meet the 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month at 11:30 am.
- The group will be a blend of start-up and established Portland-based businesses.
- Multiple people in the same area of business are okay if there are differing areas of focus (i.e. one LMT focuses on injury recovery, one focuses on Thai massage. Or one real-estate agent focuses on commercial properties on the west side and another focuses on residential in SE.)
- Interested parties must apply to become a member by filling out an application describing what makes your business holistic in nature. It can be based on direct client interaction/sales &/or through your approach to running the business. So lawyers, CPAs and real estate agents etc. are welcome! It is not necessary to be in a healing arts or alternative health profession.
- After review and discussion of the application, current members will offer final approval of applicants. Members must reach consensus.
- Before joining, potential members must agree to meeting twice a month for 12 months and attend a minimum of 18 meetings a year (i.e. six absences are allowed).
- Semi-monthly meetings will be scheduled for an hour and fifteen minutes.
- The first meeting of the month will be focused on accountability to our goals and work with a previously chosen topic. Sample topics could include various business building techniques, sharing of best practices, marketing tips, life-work balance, vision work and affirmations, event planning etc.
- The second meeting of each month will be a chance to showcase particular businesses or other educational presentations. This is also when vistors or potential new members will be asked to join us.
Meeting flow
1. Each meeting will begin with a reading of the group’s mission statement, followed by brief introductions (i.e. elevator speeches). 5-10 minutes
2. Next a few volunteers will share something new and good that is going on in their business. 5 minutes
3. After “new and good”, members will discuss any group business on the agenda, such as voting in new members. Time slot TBD
4. A call will be made for new business. Facilitator will decide if the agenda allows time for discussion of new business, if it warrants a special meeting or if it can wait and be added to the agenda for the next meeting.
5. Core meeting business will take place. 30 minutes to 1 hour
6. Five minutes before each meeting adjourns the group will conclude with positive, business related, group affirmations. 2-5 minutes
